French Onion Dip

Dip. It’s the quintessential party food! I love all kinds of dip (I am on the hunt for an amazing baba ganoush recipe) but French Onion dip is so classic and always a crowd pleaser.

What you need:

1 tablespoon of olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups brown onion
250g sour cream
1 tbsp white vinegar
2 tbsp fresh chopped herbs (chives or parsley)

What to do:

  1. Dice onion (hope you have an easy slice!).

    dicey!

  2. Saute in a frypan with oil and salt for 10 – 12 minutes until lightly golden and turning a bit caramelised.
  3. Let cool completely.
  4. In a bowl (best to use the one you want to serve in) place the onion, sour cream and vinegar.

You put the sour cream in the onion!

  5. Mix together well then place in the fridge for at least half an hour before serving.
  6. Stir then add herbs and a bit of salt and pepper before you serve.
